Online Databases (To access from home, go to the Library SharePoint site.)


Search for Books
  1. Go to Destiny.
  2. Click on the Catalog tab at the top.
  3. Enter your search term, and click on "Subject" (or, if that fails, "Keyword.")
  4. Click on titles to get more information about the book.
  5. Note the call numbers of relevant books.
  6. Locate the books on the shelves, or ask if you need help!


Citations




Find pictures

  • Go to Gale's Global Issues in Context, conduct a topic search, and click on the images tab in the upper right. Select an image, and right click on it. Click on "Save Picture As..." to save it.
  • Search Creative Commons for pictures. When the search results come up, click on the "Google Images" tab. Click on a picture that you want, to make it larger. Right-click on it, and click on "Save Target As...". Save it to the Desktop and load it to SharePoint, or save it to your H: drive. Follow the following citation format:

Girl With Flower. Digital image. Creative Commons. Artcyclopedia. Web. 12 Feb. 2011.
Title of picture. Digital image. Creative Commons. Name of web site. Web. Date.


Find Videos
Discovery Education Streaming
  • Search in the search box, and under the "Media" pull-down menu, click on "Video Segment."
  • Once you locate a video that you want to use, click on the disk icon next to the description to download it.
  • Click on the citations tab on the right to copy and paste the citation.
